About Me

Hello, my name is Brandon Julian Mitchell. I was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and have been living in Suffolk, Virginia for the last year. My journalism journey started in 2012 when I began to write and perform Spoken Word Poetry. Once I stopped performing, I began to realize I needed to do something to connect my love of writing with my love of sports. I began to write for recruit757 and recruit804 in 2015 while I was attending Norfolk State University. This allowed me to write articles on high school student-athletes playing both football and basketball in an attempt to further their exposure in the eye of different colleges. Over the years I've gotten the chance to interview people like Stephen A. Smith, Elton Brown and Taylor Heinicke. I've covered multiple high school football championship games from William & Mary to Hampton University and all the way to University of Virginia. I love writing more than anything else in this world and hope to continue to do so for a very long time.
